Once an account has been paid in full, is there a letter out there I could use to have the OC or the CRA update my report immediately, and if not would calling work? Thanks in advance!

Your report should be updated at the regular interval chosen by your lender, be it monthly, quarterly, etc. Fleet was a great experience; they reported my paid off car loan w/i 3-4 business days. Almost 3 months later, DMB still hasn't reported my 0 balance to Equifax or TU.

Don't be too quick to dispute a paid off account on your report, either. In my case, TU deleted the tradeline, stating they didn't hear from DMB w/i the proscribed 30 days.

Rina is right as usual. I WOULD NOT dispute a positive tradeline with TU. There policy is if there is a discrepency they will delete the entire tradeline. I learned the hard way 2X. Dumb on my part. I should've learned the 1st time. Charlie

I have one I paid off in January and it still shows the old balance! I just e-mailed them directly because I DO NOT want the CRA to delete the tradeline by way of my disputing.

For some reason Equifax has never done this, thank goodness:)
