a 700 beacon is considered good to most creditors. however things like auto loans, may have more stringent requirements than just just score.. Fair-isaac site said my credit score was "good" at 705. Now that im back to 675, it says its "okay, but at higher rates". Pheer not, i got denied by many creditors with 700 score as well. i'd say 600-670 = subprime to near prime 680-700 = pretty damn near prime 700+ = prime 800+ = YOU ARE GOD I BOW DOWN TO YOU!!
Generally a Beacon score of 661 is good. A score 681 is better. A score over 700 is excellent. If you a looking for a great credit card you will probable need the 700. If you are looking for a mortgage 620 to 661 will get you there.
650 is probably the "BOTTOM" of the good range...NOBODY gets 850 very few get above 800...SO IF YOU HAVE 650-750...YOUR IN A GREAT RANGE...
Haven't gotten my scores yet - is there one site that's better than others at beginning to repair your credit. I've seen all of these adds for "credit monitering" etc - but don't know the first thing about what I'm trying to do. My credit isn't the WORST, but it does have some things on it that need to be taken care of. All things going on there now are positive things. I've got a furniture account, a couple of credit cards and a Jewelry account that are adding positive things, but I need to know what is the best step for me to take to begin "repairing" - I read that adding GOOD things to the report helps, but that repairing the other things is needed too. Any suggestions on which route for me to take next. I've requested the 3 credit reports - haven't gotten them yet - kind of scared to see "THE" numbers, but I have been approved for some things, so it can't be THAT bad.
tangy: dispute all previous addresses and other names <than on your legal documents> as dispute #1. then as dispute #2, dispute all deragotory items. You can have 99 good trade lines, but 1 bad one will make you sub-prime.
