Hey everybody, I received my settlement check of $1,000 (1 violation) and reimbursement of my filing fees and deletion from an OC on an account that I disputed as not mine. They couldn't validate but made me go through the process of filing a lawsuit anyway. The day the summons was received by their office, I was contacted. I don't understand. Do they want to pay us money? It would have been so simple to just delete the account. But maybe they wanted to see just how serious I was, I guess. They should know by now that we (creditnetters) are very serious and should not be taken lightly. I have found there is always at least 1 person on this board who has dealt with a similar creditor as someone else and who can tell them what worked for them. And as others have said before me, the information on this board is invaluable. I thank everyone for sharing their ideas, comments and suggestions because I couldn't have come this far without you all. (Hey drmgirl6, now that you've got $1,000 what are you going to do?) I'm not going to Disneyland but I will be going shopping! Thanks, guys!!!
Thanks Lizardking. It really IS because of you and a few others before me (Christi, Whyspers, Christine@Bayhouse.com and more that know who you are) who have been brave enough to go the distance that I took example. It is a very frightening thing but I'm serious about it and I knew, in this instance anyway, that I was doing the right thing. I'll make a toast to you this weekend. Thanks again.
Way to go drmgirl6!!!!! Wooohoooo It always makes me chuckle at how they respond once they get served. Its like that line in Thelma and Louise when Thelma says "boy, he sure didn't expect that, did he"...lol. They are given every opportunity and plenty of notice and then they act so suprised when they actually get sued. Congratulations! L
