they are coded different, they may make a subjective difference, etc. etc. But I have not seen evidence they impact scores.
I Agree. I have only read that from other's posts and there may be conjecture there. I guess, as George said, you can't tell how "human eyes" would interpret it though. If incorrect, I would definitely dispute it off my report. -Peace, Dave
A lot of this *should* be moot, considering it is "hidden." Calling all Amex LOCers: Please post your experience here.
NO GUARANTEE IT WON'T SHOW UP IN YEARS TO COME... My MONKEY WARDS was gone for 10+ years and just showed up back on my reports!!!
It's in the "POSITIVE" accounts because it wasn't closed for "CAUSE"...BUT who know how any credit card company will treat it in application review???
I got my letter two days ago. I never even used the loc. The last day the loc checks will be honored is June 19th, I think.
The rep said something about the accounts getting closed two weeks after the letters go out. Therefore, it looks like my LOC will be open until mid-July (since I wasn't in the first group to be mailed). Just in time, since my BT promo on CapOne is expiring next month and I need somewhere silent to stuff my balance while I dig around for a new BT offer... RM
I really wonder about Amex and their banking product. Membership Banking is pretty weak and lame compared to others out there (Citibank online, Fleet HomeLink, even BankOne online). Killing off the LOC just makes it almost of no use to me. Too bad, because they have a good name and I love their cards. -mj
Well said, mj. I do hope they later come up with a better product, and will be able to provide copetent customer service. They haven't done that so far with their banking clients. Saar
Just called Amex again. They aren't able to tell me the exact date of my account closure. They don't know if I'm in the first group or the second group. They can reprint (or preprint) the letter but they don't know what's on it! Methinks everyone at the Membership B@nking department needs to go work for the Blue department for a few weeks. Maybe they will absorb a clue via osmosis... RM
I can sympathize with them on that. I often "click" and the computer sends a letter to "fulfillment" (printing and mailing) - I haven't a clue what's in the darn thing.
