Yep, approved WOOHOO, finally a retail card (I hope). Only problem I don't know if *I* am approved or hubby is, we both applied same day and used my email address, when they emailed the approval it isn't addressed to anyone...lol. I noticed they merged with Texaco, does that mean this card is good at Texaco's too???? I hope so, cause there are NO Chevron's near me!!! Oh this will be great for my vaca!!!!
Shell is housed with Texaco, also. I called Shell the other day and a CSR accidently transfered me, and the other person answered Texaco. Charlie
Congradulations!!!!! I just got chevron too...and there aren't any near me either!!! LOL There used to be...I'm sure I've seen'em...if you find out about texaco please let me know! Congradulations again!!!!!!
Soup- The website is www.chevrontexaco.com so I assuming they are one in the same???? Have you gotten your card yet? If so, did it say anything in the enclosures? I'm curious as to what the CL is for me (hubby) lol.
I have the same situation. Approved for Chevron, none anywhere near me. Kept it as it is my only gas card, at least it will always be a good tradeline and will never show a late pay (LOL). I also want to carry it when I travel as I may run across the rare Chevron station in my area. Unfortunately, although they merged with Texaco, their website says that the card cannot be used at Texaco stations and there are no plans for a "co-branded" card in the future. I think it is probably because Chevron is through their own "credit bank" and Shell/Texaco are through Associates.
Hal-- thank you for the insight, too bad though. Any clue if there are Chevron's down the east coast? I'll be driving to Florida in 15 days (YIPPIE) and would like to use the card if at all possible, in case they pull a target and only report once it's used (which it STILL hasn't been used, 7 mos. now)
They are definitely in FL!!! I used to live there. I haven't gotten my card yet but I called the day I got the email and they told me $600 here's the # I called...1-800-243-8766
If you go to their website www.chevron.com you can click on "credit" when the page opens use the drop down box that reads quick links and choose "Gas Stations" from the menu. On the next page there is a link to "find chevron stations along the way". This allows you to put in a starting and ending destination and will point you to some stations along your route.
If worse comes to worst and you can't find any stations near you, you can always buy something small from their Chevron Direct. Go to the Chevron website. They sell all manner of merchandise (some brand merchandise, some not), and it will bill to your Chevron card. It's not the best option (because you pay for shipping too), but it'll at least keep your card active.
Congratulations! I got the one (premium?) with a $20 well-worth it annual fee (so many travel benefits) with a $400 line to start. Got it with several major baddies...they told me all they care about is six months of continuous good revolving history...excellent card.
