Be careful - some of the CGI scripts are designed to get your name and email address from your browser. ;)

Actually, there really are many places online where you can get this kind of info for free. If you live in Florida, your whole life is online (mortgage apps, marriage licenses, traffic tickets, divorces, any time you went to court). In TX, marriage, death and divorce records. MO has property online. Some counties in CA also have various public records online (birth records, property). And anyone who got married in Las Vegas, you're online. It really is scary how much is out there.

Yeah, that's right. These days, you have to be long dead to be "un-locateable." There are voter reg. databases (OH), court databases, online public records -- you name it. If they can't find you, it is only because they didn't try (unless you happen to live in a state that is way behind the curve on public record access - some have virtually nothing online so they'd have to actually pay someone to find you).
