I am about to call the CA or OC to pay off the judgement. They would not budge on a settlement. I know that I should be requesting that they send a letter to me saying the judgement is satisfied. Is there anything else that they should be sending to me. And for anyone that has satisfied a judgement, was there a change in the scores after it was satisfied. Thank you in advance for responses.
Earlier this year, I was pre-approved for an FHA loan, whereas a year or so ago I was denied (before the judgements were listed as Satisfied). As for credit cards, it's hard to say. The judgements weren't the only negatives on my reports, and the rejection letters didn't attribute the denial to any specific entry, only to an overall history of delinquencies. I can tell you that for the few crap cards that I was able to obtain (FCNB, Marin, 1st Prem.) the judgements didn't matter, satisfied or unsatisfied. wajaba
Thankyou very much. Just wondering what I could really hope for after this comes off my reports. Also, when was the judgement filed against you and did the DOLA change, or do you expect for the judgement to stay on for another 7 years after it was satisfied. Thanks.
For civil suits, the 7-year clock goes by the date the suit was filed, as opposed to tax liens, which go by their release dates. This is just a theory, but I think the Satisfied notation on CRs is cosmetic. It doesn't really count for much when dealing with automated approvals where the mere presence of a judgement is enough to get you kicked out. Where it most likely comes into play is with manual reviews, like home loans, apartment apps, even car loans. For prime CCs, though, I can pretty much forget it Good luck, wajaba
Thanks. That about sums it up for me. Just wondering if I had any hope in this matter. I will pay this, but I think that I was improperly served. I am thinking about after it is paid, I will arrange to have a hearing to have it vacated upon being served improperly. I know I owe the money, but maybe when I decide to go to court, they will not show up since they already have the money. I have two years to go before it drops off.
