We received a letter that we are preapproved for a CC with First Premier. I just wanted to know if anybody has any experience with them. We just want to get a CC to establish the credit more, not to actually buy anything. The Fees are pretty high though, is there a better alternative. Should we just wait til something else comes along in the mail. This was the first of a kind since I started the credit repair.

BTW the TU score went 32 points up Woohoo!!!

Why pay so much when you do not have to? I opened a secure visa with my credit union. No fees! It is not reported as a secured card. the rate is 12.5. I am okay with that for now as I don't plan to have a large outstanding balance.

I recieved the first premere notice as well. I will not take them up on their offer.

If there is a credit union that you are a member of or qual;ified to join, that might be the sensible way for you two as well

My personal opinion, I've had most of the subprimers and they are the WORST, my suggestion stay away, not worth it AT ALL....never give cl increases and have HORRIBLE customer services...you have to pay them extra to pay your account online...had them a while started at $250 stayed at $250 AND never late with them but they reported to TU 2 x's 30days late...nightmare to correct....again, my opinion.

You're better off going with Capital One, from my own personal experience. First Premier seemed too shady for me and I closed my account after just a few months. Capital 1 is very reasonable and easy to work with, ideal for establishing credit. As long as you make payments on time, they'll reward you with higher limits along the way.

    Good luck!

Fell for this twice (yes I know, an idiot), only to send the "application fee" in and receive a "we have revised the terms of our offer" letter asking for a $200.00 deposit. Threw it in the trash.
