I know that none of the credit card companies are supposed to allow merchants to have minimum charges, but does anyone feel embarassed making small charges on your credit card & expected the merchant to say something? I always feel a little embarassed if it is under $15 or so.

Also what is the smallest cc purchase you ever made? I think for me it was $8 at a hotel gift shop for a couple of magazines.

I charge everything, even if it is under a dollar. I try to get back as much as possible (thru miles and rewards) by using my cards.

When we purchased our new 2002 Mustang in April, we charged the $2500.00 down payment on our Citibank card, but the dealership rang it in as .25 cents!!! It went through, of course they then rang another charge in for $2499.75.

I have charged 0.08 to my amex once. It was a utility bill that gets auto-billed to my card. It's usually like $30, but I got some kind of refund.

Also, I routinely charge $1-2, at the gas station to Visa for sodas. I hate using cash- too much hassle

    I CHARGE EVERYTHING...

The deal with MIN. charges is that they pay like "up-to" 5% + "up-to" $0.75/transaction...

...so if you charge $0.27...they MAY have to pay $0.01 + $0.75...LOSING $0.49...

When the pump ran out of gas @ $0.12...this was my lowest ever...

F.Y.I. MIN. CHARGES ON CREDIT CARDS ARE AGAINST CREDIT CARD POLICY, AND ILLEGAL IN MANY STATES...

Some years ago, coming back from a long trip, I noticed the light was on for my gas. Tired and annoyed I pulled into a small self service station and stood there for 10 minutes while I filled the tank, when it shut off,I went in to te station and gave the attendant my gas credit card,he rang it up, gave me the receipt to sign etc. and I went on my way.A few blocks away, I noticed the light was STILL on, I looked at the gauge, still empty, looked at the charge slip, 6 cents!!!.I had been pumping nothing but air except for the very last bit!!!
