Ok, is it just me, or is everyone giving out "free" money lately??

    Current offers with existing cards:
    Chase: Xfer >$5k, $0 fee, 0% through AUG 2003 (for lower amounts, $2.5k @ 1.99%, $500 @ 2.99%)
Discover: Any amount, $0 fee, 0% through DEC 2002

    New card solicitation:
Citi: 0% on all BTs for 12 months, PR+4.99% afterwards

Any other juicy offers out there??

Let's all get out the BT checks!!!

I already mentioned CHASE 0.00% (maybe <a week ago?).
    DISCOVERCARD I got 1.90% with a fee of $29.00.
    Got CITIBANK 0.00%.

NOW IF I COULD JUST GET MBNA TO GIVE ME 0.00% FOR ONE YEAR @ $0.00 FEE...I WOULD BE REAL HAPPY!!!

They ASSUME you will NOT pay it off in full...so they will make more money
    on the "BACK END".

BANK of AMERICA gets HONORABLE MENTION @ 4.75% (till paid) for BT.

DISCOVER GOT OUR BUSINESS ON TWO NEW ACCOUNTS
A PLATINUM FOR ZERO% UNTIL DECEMBER
A TITANIUM AT ZERO% UNTIL JANUARY.

ABOUT THE CHASE B.T. Is there a time factor or something involved in getting this offer? We have carried their account since December. paid it off the end of March. CL is 8,200. I have written to them twice using their website asking for that ZERO BT offer. they say they have no promotional balance transfers for me at this time. I wrote in April and in June. Should I write again.. his score 733, mine 732

Applying the UYGF, this would no doubt lower your FICO scores...

George - I just got mine today. I forgot you also got it last week.

It just struck me as I was looking at my desk with all of these offers ....

The Chase deal - over 13 months at $0/0% is just too good to pass up.

Even if you DON'T owe much money on other cards...I suggest you BT 100% to a card even if it will have a CREDIT BALANCE...(THEN GET A CHECK REFUND) put the money in your savings or checking account...

I KNOW SOMEONE WILL SAY SOMETHING ABOUT MAXING IT OUT, BUT SO WHAT...SOMETIMES SAVING "BIG BUCKS" IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN A SCORE...

    I GOT CHECKS TODAY ALSO...

One of them is made out to me for $1,000.00 SO I GUESS YOU COULD JUST DEPOSIT A CHECK IN THE BACK FOR 100% @ 0.00% TILL 08/01/2003!!!

Another one is made out to me...but the amount is blank...

I "THINK" IF I READ IT RIGHT...YOU HAVE TO DO $5,000.00+ IN ONE BT OR CHECK...IF YOU DO A FEW SMALL BT'S OR CHECKS...THEY DON'T COMBINE THEM FOR THE LOWEST RATE...I COULD BE READING IT WRONG...

George- according to my last call to them (2 mos. ago) they total them all up (under the same offer). I did it with 2 checks last time - 1st one cleared and I was charged 4.9%, the next statement had the 2nd check and both were treated as a promotional balance at 3.9%.

Problem (for me) is that I do have a balance on the card at 3.9% (expires Sept.). I'll have to xfer off the existing balance first (if I don't, they will use payments to pay the 0% 1st and I'll have the existing balance racking up interest at 10.74%).

I guess most folks don't pay enough attention to this- which is how they make their money.

WIFE'S CARD IS FINALLY EMPTY (last night)...I thought I did a BT for both on the same day...

When she gets home I will ask her to call for a "ALREADY APPROVED" credit limit increase...

"I have $6,500 available, but I need to BT about $10,000 do you have a "NO CREDIT REPORT PULLED" increase for me"???
