my husband has 4 utility collection accounts, almost all are under $100 each. I'm going to start validation letters this week, but really just want to pay for deletion. Anyway, my ?? is. What if they had been paid already? Since they are utilities, in collections, how would they appear on his CR? I'm assuming they would show up, right? Or would they just be gone? That would be too easy, I'm thinking! Would they show up as paid collections, w/ the OC's name on it? Just kind of thinking out loud I guess. I've never seen utilities on a CR, so I don't know how it would appear!! TIA
They would appear as a collection. Just like any other collection. I would first call the OC, I have had the best luck with paying them directly AFTER getting something in writing that it would be given back to them and REMOVED from my credit reports
