Due to banking "issues" with my current bank, I'm changing banks.

Obviously, w/ credit "issues" this is troublesome.

Can someone please advise me as to a reputable bank that deals w/ people w/ credit issues?

(I'm in the Philly area if any local banks are known)

    Thanks

    DB :)

I'm in PA too and I'm with Citizens Bank (formerly Mellon Bank). I have been banking with them since last September and have been quite pleased so far.

Try this Google Search. A lot of places to look at more closely.

I don't know if this helps, but I have Bank of America. (I know people think they suck).

I was reported to Chexsystems (I paid it immediately), and applied at BOA.

I also noticed they checked my credit report, (I had 649 at the time).

    I hope this helps.

They didn't check Chexsystems for me.

Maybe it's because I live in Louisiana, and there are no branches here?

    Whatever happens, Good luck!!!!!

Provident Bank of MD didn't check Chex for me, and my scores were in the crapper when I opened a checking account.

    From their faq section:

    What is ChexSystems?

ChexSystems provides deposit account verification services to its financial institution members to aid them in identifying account applicants who may have a history of account mishandling (for example, people whose accounts were overdrawn and then closed by them or by their bank). ChexSystems is also licensed to do business as ChexSystems Collection Agency providing debt collection services to members participating in this service.

...so if you've never bounced any checks, they probably won't even have a record of you.

CU's may be an option also. Check out www.creditunionsonline.com/ I know that some CU's don't check Chex either. Good Luck!
