No need to e-mail it. If it's posted here, he'll read it.

I know the argument of whether $1000 TOTAL or if it is $1000 PER dispute was brought up once.. that might be something you might want to check into..

We tried emailing too about some bogus inquiries(like I would apply for the same credit card 3 times in a month) and I got the same can-like letter. They spend more time denying us our rights when it would take 30 seconds to simply erase the bad inquiries.

That sounds good, except, it's not THEIR JOB. IT'S FEDERAL LAW that they are violating!!! Charlie

Erica, the only thing I would change would be to stress that it is their job to ensure that no one pulls your credit report without a permissible purpose and they have obviously failed miserably if these companies did so and *that* is what makes them culpable. That doesn't come through very clearly in the letter (at least it didn't when I read it).

    JMHO,

Thanks for the responses guys....I appreciate it. We'll see what he says in his response. I really want to nail them to the wall.

Not to highjack the thread, but I emailed Don Richman about an inquiry and got the "typical" response. Then I got my credit report in the mail. The inquiry was gone. Not sure why, don't care, it is gone.

I am surprised by D Richmans responses lately. After he sent me his now famous letter, he was very helpful to me. Maybe it was just because he knew he shouldn't have sent me that letter? Good luck Erica.

What we need is a lawyer(I am sure one of the members here is one) and then we all file against the big 3 about inquiries. Maybe a large suit would shake of the industry. My score has gone up 200 points the last year but people keep pulling hard inquiries. Now that I have the score to get a good card, I get turned down and the #1 listed reason on my turndown letter is excessive amount of inquiries. IT is getting pathetic.

I think initially he is helpful, depending on your particular issue. But if you get "pissy" with him he produces responses like the above.

For me he deleted 4 derogs within a week. But after I posted my letter here, he suddenly was not helpful anymore. Go figure!

Erica, there was an FTC letter posted here last week that I meant to save and didn't. I'm sure someone reading this thread remembers?? Anyway, the jist of it was that although inquiries need to be retained by the cra's, they do not need to be coded as hard inquiries and only need to be shown to you. Not to everybody that gets your report. I'll see if I can find it. Maybe Mr. Richman would like to respond to that.

Why don't you post on this board and help us with good advice instead of lurking here and reading our posts so you can decide how to respond Mr. Richman. And, don't think I've forgotten about your initial letter to me, Mr. Richman. I just haven't decided yet what exactly I am going to do with it.
