Citibank screwing up Exp!

    WTH??

Exp was down this morning and when I logged on now, Citi had reported a balance from 9/2001,
with lower credit limit and my score had dropped.

    WTH?

I knew that finally having my report correct was inviting something bizarre like this.

Anybody else get a weird Citi update today?

Yes, Citi has done this to me,too. My score dropped after Citi "updated" or rather "backdated" info from 10/01 at a time when I had a balance. I have a zero balance now and had looked forward to that showing soon. I can't even dispute it online because I disputed the balance they were showing previously and they won't take another online investigation.

I think it's Experian, not Citi. I have been going around with them for months now. All I get is the account placed in dispute on all three bureaus.

    Changes for me too. 10/01

My CE score dropped 10 points over the weekend because my Citibank CL now says "NA" while my balance is significantly higher than "NA". The CE Score says I am using 100% of my available credit. I'm higher than I would like, but not 100%. Not even close.

I have to credit cards with Citi, neither are reporting. I don't know if this is good or bad. Both are uner 50% and are 7 months old. Should I call and ask them to report?

Interesting Observation; I just noticed that three recent inquiries that I disputed and were dropped from my credit report, are still listed in the Credit Monitor, even though they are not on the report. I wonder if these are still factored into the CE score. I wonder if they are really gone from my actual CR.

Weird...The exact same thing happened to me. The Citi account backdated to 10/01. No other accounts have changed. I lost points but a few other things changed like the reporting of a new account (MBNA) even though it was just a account transfer.

You wouldn't believe the wild run-around I got.

Citi told me that it was all Exp's fault. They said
(I Swear!!) that the Exp system had been hacked into and when Exp rebooted (this is a quote) that old information posted.

Exp, of course, scoffed at this explanation.

I do think it is strange that ONLY Citi changed if it IS Exp's fault, but either way it really p#$$es me off.

I am not a happy camper.

Let's keep each other posted if Citi updates correctly.

Can you imagine consumers getting away with these kind of screwups? "Oh, sorry that I only sent you $1
when my minimum payment due was $234. It was a computer glitch. I will fix it within 30 days.

    Arrggh.

I have had a lot of problems with Citi and Experian. Each one blames the other. Basically, my Cit never gets updated on EX. I came to the conclusion that there is a dispute going on between the companies and that EX is purposely reporting Citi stuff wrong. My Citi stuff posts correctoly on the other two CRA's.

    Amex redux?

If you are correct, then Experian gets in more brawls than a schoolyard bully.

I hate it that my 2 favorite CCs (Amex & Citi) seem to have the most reporting glitches. sigh .......

Other companies seem to have this reporting thing down. Once a month, report the customer's closing balance. Sounds simple, doesn't it?

My two citi cards are almost a year old, and have fallen completely off exp. They would report late before they fell off. Don't think I'll dispute it for now, It's nice having invisible CL sometime...

Neither my two Citi cards or my Amex card appear on my Experian report right now.

Only one of my cards is reporting (I have two). With a backlog date of when I had no balance. So I guess it's helping me...

So here's my situation folks: I'm filling out the mortgage paperwork right now. The CL disappearing on me is depressing my CE score by 10 points. I assume the same is true for the real fico score. CR's will be pulled just after the First of August. What to do? Call EXP? Citi? Put the account in dispute? All/None of the above? I'm open to suggestions here.
