    Hey,

    This is kinda funny.

    Especially the x spouse.

Some people don't even want to be in the same room with their spouses, much less borrow from them.

Notice the R -- Rent. I once had a CA suggest I skip paying rent for a month to pay them. When I asked them how I would pay for the month after that, they said I could live in my car and save money that way. I started laughing, but they were dead serious. It taught me a lesson about what kind of scum I was dealing with.

Z-money in a ziploc bag. Yeah right. I had a CA tell me the same thing about skipping rent. I told him having a roof over my head is more important to pay him. Then ask me if I was refusing to pay. I said well if I have to pick between paying rent, and paying you, I'm picking rent. He hung up on me. LOL. Like I would tell them I have money in a ziploc baggie.

    another possible list

    my dear Mr. CA...
Thanks so much for your helpful list of places to look for my "hidden" reserves of wealth. Gosh, I never knew I had so much, and it's sure heart-warming to know that you're there to help me find it. In your honor, I've taken your brilliant brainstorming list and created my own special acronym for you, too. Please feel free to read between the lines:

    K....Kids: steal their allowance ($2.50) +
    I....Investments (WorldCom...2 cents) +
S....Sofa: under the cushions (about 87 cents) +
    S....Swiss bank account (not) +

    O...Old bottles and cans ($2.47)+
    F....Friends ($1.23)+
    F....Family (sorry...they won't answer my calls)

Well, we'll see you soon (in court, of course)...
    Sleep well,
    Sprung

Even more than the info I find here, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the excellent sense of humor!

It's "almost" as heartwarming as a deletion!

I used to be a collector for a company called ******Trust. I hated every minute of it. They actually suggested that we ask the debtor (thats the term they used) to consider selling their blood. Apparently some places pay by the pint. No I'm not joking, I wish I was.

    Robin.

I'm curious. Are you at liberty, and most importantly, would you be willing to discuss tactics and your other experiences with us?

If it's gonna cause a Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome problem, please feel free to ignore the request! LOL!

No I am not with Liberty or any collection agency any longer. I used to be a collector and I know that they will say anything and everything to get your money. They have no intention of making good on any promises they make to you and they allways allways allways push for the check by phone. The reason for this is that every collector has an account and usually payments do not credit to your account until they are actually received. Your account is how you keep track of your commissions. They allways push for the check by phone because they are counted immediately to your account and here is the reason why which is why you should never give your account info to a collector. As soon as they get off the phone with you they will verify the funds in your account with your bank that will give them the information. Not only will your bank give them the information they will verify how much money you have in your account. If they find out you have more money they will simply come at you again for a larger monthly payment or payment in one or two installments because they are already working with ht knowledge of how much you have in your account. And yes the bank tells them every time. By the way, Western Union is their second best payment preference.

I would like to know what bank gives them your balance. This is very illegal. I worked at a bank for years and if someone calls to verify funds the only thing you are supposed to tell them is if the check will clear at that time or not. Talk about MAJOR lawsuit here. If it were me the bank would be owing me way more than I owed the CA.

I don't know about this, but I do know if you are given a check and there is not enough funds to cover it you can make a deposit into the checking account to bring the funds up to enough to cover the checks.
To do this you would have to have the account balance in order to know how much of a deposit to make.
Therefore the bank can and will state the account balance to you.

    Re: another possible list

That is rediculous. Why would you want to make a deposit into someones account so you can cash a check against it. That is like paying yourself. And YES it is illegal for a bank to disclose any information on an account to someone other than the accountholder. The only thing they can tell someone that is not the accountholder is if the check presented will clear or not.

    1*Not it's not!
2* There is a very good reason to do that.
    3*It's nothing like that.

    Re: another possible list

The fact is banks did tell us the account balances regularly when checking to see if the person had funds in the account. Also, even if we didn't speak to an account rep we could simply use the automated system with your ss# and account # and find the balance anyway. As I said I am no longer a collecter have not been for several years so the policies may have changed. I am just trying to keep you informed. You can believe it or not believe it. It;s entirely up to you.
