I got a letter from TU stating that 5 inquiries were deleted and 2 verified. I haven't looked them up, but I know that most are from a couple of months ago. I also had my only derog updated, after they told me they wouldn't. I guess that the lawsuit that they lost may have had an impact. Charlie

I just got off the phone with them to find out if they can help me with an inquiry that was done without authorization and they REFUSE to help.

Yep, they refused to help me too. I have an inq (unauthorized) that it may take ANOTHER lawsuit to get them to help me. I can't believe these jerks!

    Congrats, Charlie. Good for you!

The thing is most of the inquiries that were ones that I disputed months ago. I was going to a lawyer to file on TU this week. Charlie

Charlie, were you going to file based on their policy of not investigating inquiries? Are you in the priority department like me? I am just trying to figure out how they responded, proactivitly, to your intent to file. Maybe this isnt even what caused this sudden change in attitude on TU's part. Maybe you just got a rep that was in a giving mood! Anyway, congratulations!

I am in the priority dept. They refused to dispute the inquiries, verbally. I got to the priority dept via a BBB complaint I filed (Big Joke). I tried to dispute the inquiries off and on via online investigations to get ammo for a lawsuit. Out of the blue, months later, I get a list of 5 deleted inquiries, 2 verified and a CA update. The CA update was about 2 months after I tried to dispute it via phone. I still will file for failure to notate a disputed item. They also deleted a positive tradeline that I tried to get updated. At this point, I wish that they would've left it alone. Hope this helps. Charlie

I have been dealing with this issue, failure to investigate inquiries, for almost a year. I haven't filed only because I have 2 other suits filed currently, and I don't have time to deal with this one too. I have had inquiries deleted by TU. It was sort of like your situation.
    1. I disputed, they refused.
    2. I got the form letter saying they don't investigate inquiries.
    3. I get a report showing several deleted inquiries.

One thing all of these deleted inquiries share in common? They all were within 90 days of falling off anyway i.e. they were 21 months old.

I have several in dispute now that they refused to investigate. They are all 21 months or older. We'll see if my theory holds.

It just seems that there is no rhyme or reason to why they do what they do.

Keep us posted on your battle!

    Good luck,
    Lisa

I had 2 or 3 inquiries that were less than 90 days old, and the others were about a year old. Total points +8. With TU it could've been -8. I guess you have to look at the positive instead of the negatives, especially with TU. Charlie

I hear ya! You can lose 8 points with a new inquiry, get it deleted and gain no ground. It must be due to ..........

    RNG!!!!!!!!!!

When I first read that on George's signature line, I laughed out loud. A year later, I think he is right!
