Has anyone dealt with this company? They keep saying they do not delete collections once paid and that it is their corporate policy to not do so. Although I am settling on this account, This very gracious board has taught me never settle for nothing. If you cannot delete why bother. They said they would report it as paid. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do?

Also their settlement letter had no signature just
    Sincerly,

    Recovery Department

This is not good enough is it?

Do as search on my user name. There is a post with a link to BayHouse that has some info on Genesis and their policies. I'm not good at knowing how to post links or I'd do it. (in fact someone fixed the url I'd put in).

I'm getting ready to sue them. I'll give you any info I get or help I can.

I'm suing them for screwing up bad. They don't know what they are doing. My court date is September 6. They do not respect consumers. I hope that you have a paper trail. If they've committed any violations, use them as leverage. Trust me, their Compliance Manager is stupid as hell. She tried to settle with me for $800 when I am suing them for $5000. I don't think so. She just kept saying that she couldn't see the violations. Even when she agreed that the account never should have been on my file! Well, she'll see the violations in court. I don't know what the circumstances are in your case, but they were trying to collect on an account that wasn't mine(fraud) with a company that has gone out of business. If you want the whole thing from head to toe, I can explain it to you. Of course, the culmination will be in court. But I've already gotten my deletions. Now I need my money.

ttowns, Good for you, get that money and it will be great for you. I am trying to pay for deletion on one of my accounts. They say they cannot do it. the board has taught me better. they haven't violated anything that I am aware of. Except they report their collection as an installment loan. No report of late pays, how could they it is a collection. I hope you win. Keep us posted

If they won't delete, don't pay unless you have to.

It is too recent and I need to raise my scores, so I am willing to pay only for deletion, not just update to paid. If they will not take it off, then it will sit there

I have helped 2 friends get Genesis deleted. I was hoping that they were going to be able to sue, because they are total idiots, at least the ones in Texas are. Nail em on Sept. 6!!! Charlie

Thnak you for the support. Oh yes, they are dumb as hell. In Texas and Oregon(they have an office there as well). My father works for Continental. I can sue them in TX and not pay a DIME except to file the case(but I can get a ticket to make them pay for, though)! I'm thinking about it. Watch out Harker Heights, here I come. There are some more boneheads I am thinking about flying in to sue. They picked the wrong girl. I'm not scared to fly And if I was, I'd take the train. Let 'em have IT!

Well, I received a letter from the Texas AG. They said that they couldn't do anything since I already filed suit. However, they kept my information in Genesis's file. I don't live in Texas, so it's ok. I can still file a complaint here in California. But I just wanted to keep you abreast of what was going on. So remember to file your complaints before you file your suits. I also received a letter form the BBB on another company that has passed the realm of the rest of the bonheads I have been dealing with. They didn't even respond to them! Someone's going to jail. They put a listing on my credit report form a company that doesn't exist. Can you say, "Take the prisoner away, baliff"? Go me, go me.
