I called Experian today to dispute incorrect addresses. They said I need to write a letter and highlight the bad addys on my report.

They also said i need to send in my full report. My report is 29 pages!!!! Do i really need to send in the entire thing?

    Thanks,
    Allen

They told me I just needed to write a letter but I didn't need to send the report. I don't know where on earth Experian gets their addresses from! They have addresses on there that I either have never lived at or lived at for like a month while I was in school!

I wrote a letter and faxed it in. They claim that they do not accept faxes. It took about a month, but they finally deleted the bad addresses.

Experian will delete the bad addresses over the phone.

If you are wondering where the addresses are coming from, ask the representative. The addresses were reported by one or more creditors and the CSR can see who reported the address.

If the first rep doesn't cooperate, just hang up and call back. They have deleted them immediately for me while on the phone.

my hubby and I both had addresses deleted right over the phone. Exp was the easiest to correct personal info. mistakes. TU was correct, and now everytime I correct them, something else is wrong. Thank God they didn't add all this information while I was still disputing. I'd be stuck w/ 2 liens and a judgement I'm afraid!

yay! she said she would remove all of them today!!

i wonder when my report will be updated?

Yup, worked for me too! All the wrong addresses were deleted while I talked to the rep. What's really screwy is that they updated my address when they investigated my disputes and removed my correct address and put in an incorrect version of my address.

    Allen,

Your report is updated in real time with Experian. If you have CreditWatch just log in and you will see all the removed information is GONE.

That is strange. I sent identical letters from me and my husband to all 3 CRA asking to remove old address. Experian was the only one to say that the information wsas obtained from creditors, deemed accurate and they would not remove.

The addresses I got removed were not my old addresses. They were incorrect addresses, i.e. wrong apt number, no apt number, places i'd never even lived at before. The addresses that were in fact at one point mine were not deleted

They get the addresses from the companies who report to them...

I HAD TO MOVE MY HOUSE TO THE DRAINAGE DITCH BECAUSE FLEET SAID I MOVED!!! It was reported to the CRA'S and my bills NEVER made it to my house...good thing I check every account I can ON-LINE!!!

But where on earth would creditors get the notion that i lived somewhere where I didn't?? That is too weird.

    Hi Allen,

As Neosmatrix said, it really depends on who you talk to.

Try and try again, all within a very short time period, to get to the right person who will do what you need.

In other words, take a few hours and figure on some phone time until you get a person to help. You don't want to call one day then wait 3 days and try again. Do it all at once.

    HTH
