Today I got my third increase w/o inquiry and this time is was a 1500 increase. The previous 2 times it was 1000 each. Im not complaining but why did it jump to 1500 this time? Congratulations! Your credit line can be immediately increased by $1,500.00 for a total new credit line of $5,000.00. During the evaluation process, a credit bureau report was not pulled. Please indicate below whether or not you accept this amount, or if you want a lower credit line, call Customer Care at 1-800-950-5114.
also another thing... does Citibank still do those auto increases like yearly increases without you asking for one?
Same here, I did it twice online, $1500 each time, increases are without an inquiry. I also had to wait approx 90 days for the 2nd increase. JohnM
I really did not want to request it. I just wanted to check if my increase is already approved. If you are already approved for an increase all you have to do is ACCEPT it. It always comes without hard inquiry and it happens usually every 90 days for the amount of $1500 most the time.
When was the 1st? Was if 90 days after account opening ... or 6 months for the 1st (then evey 90 days after). One more question for you Citi experts ... I have 2 cards opened in July- 1 @ $3300 and 1 @ $1000. I decided against combining them (use 1 for BT @ 0% and 1 for "purchases" -- got them to lower it to 7.99% in 1st month). My thinking was that I will be able to grow the CL's faster by earning increases on both - $1000-$1500 each. ANyone with multiple accounts care to share what your experiences are? Thanks much- mj
So, do you find out if you are approved in the limited time offers section, or did you call in? Sorry for being so confused!
azur24, when you click on request credit line increase you get either instant approval or form that you need to fill out by answering some questions. If you are not instantly approved I would not suggest you to fill out that form because it will bring you hard inquiry on your report. Instant approval is without hard inquiry.
Re: When was the 1st? I would like to know this too. Also.. for those of you who got an increase. What kind of balance do you carry or do you pay it off each month?
Re: When was the 1st? It seems their scoring for increases is tied to usage and payment patterns. Use the card a lot, make big payments. I carry a little bit of a balance for a while, and then pay it off.
Re: When was the 1st? Thanks, that may be why I am not getting anywhere with them. I haven't used the card in 6 months, but still carrying a balance. I am going to pay off and leave them alone until my last derog falls off my report.
Re: When was the 1st? I use my card every month and pay in full. I just use my card for some small purchases, my bill doesn't go over $40 each month. The credit increase button only seems to work every 3 billing cycles. I tried to do an increase last week and got denied. I tried yesterday and got the increase because my 3rd billing cycle was up.
