Has anyone had success at suing a Credit reporting agency. Did you receive both the deletion/correction you were seeking in addition to a monetary award? Lizard..I know you were had good luck, but has anyone actually received a check?
I would scan and post copies if I wasn't bound by "confidentiality agreement"/s. I sued 3 and have 3 checks........I kept copies and one day soon may white out check number, personal info, scan & post them somewhere
Congrats Christi, Was the process long. Did you actually have to attend a court hearing or did you settle with the CRA prior to your court date?
Filed in February....all 3 are done and settled out of court!!! Got great results...I can say this, TU was the easiest and deleted the most with NO hassle. Experian paid the most...Equifax is still simply EQUISUX!!!
Glad you finally got the last of the checks. That's a lot of money :_) Thought maybe you'd left us since being done and since we hadn't gotten the last update yet... Nice to see Equifax folded too! Be careful not to violate those nondisclosure agreements. Since you originally posted with your name and a lot of information, they may know who you are so just be careful. They could really sue you if you don't uphold your agreement... and besides, that'd be wrong anyway. Just because they operate outside the law... well, you know how I am about taking the higher ground... again. congrats for beating them. I know it's a lot of work doing all those lawsuits: researching cases, drafting complaints, visiting lawyers... and it's a real emotional drain fighting them but now it's over
Yes. When you settle and drop a lawsuit it's very common for the opposing party to ask for a nondisclosure... that way you can't tell others how to beat them (and to what monetary extent you did beat them... even if it is an out of court settlement, you still won and they don't like that getting around!!!). Plus, say you get approached by a newspaper, news program etc... do you really think they want all their errors being aired to any audience, large or small??? Too bad they just can't do their jobs...
But can't she at least tell us the TOTAL $$ amount from all three? I don't see any reason why not and don't think THAT would violate the nondisclosure of any ONE of them.
1*Because they want to continue shafting the rest of us.`````2*This is exactly what needs to happen.~~~~~3*To them screwing us is their job.
Re:CHRISTI/ Success @ Suing CRA CHRISTI I AM ABOUT TO START SUING THE CRA'S. WHAT THEY DID TO MY WIFE AND I WAS CRIMINAL AND FORTUNATELY WE HAVE ENOUGH EVIDENCE THAT WE CAN WIN A OR MULTIPLE SUITS. BUT WE ARE UNEDUCATED IN THIS LEGAL FORUM AND JUST HAD A LITTLE GIRL SO WE CANNOT AFFORD TO GET COUNSEL FROM A LAWYER. WE NEED TO KNOW STEP BY STEP WHAT TO SAY & WHERE TO FILE & WHAT ACTIONS WOULD MAXIMIZE THE SUIT. OUR EMAIL IS randallflagg70@hotmail.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
Re: Re:CHRISTI/ Success @ Suing CRA when you have a good case, some attys will take the case on contingency and thus you pay nothing... they just get a percentage of the win or settlement amount... It's a great way to get the services of an atty
Re: Re:CHRISTI/ Success @ Suing CRA I sued exp in small claims and won also.. it was easy and i did not feel i needed a lawyer. I used whysper web site and advice from this board and won! i won check for 3k plus fees!
Re: Re:CHRISTI/ Success @ Suing CRA uniondiva, You sued pro se, right? I am about to go after EX myself. From what I have read they buckle at a small lawsuit. The only thing is I'm about 300 miles from Allen. I don't care really because I have them. Charlie
Re: Re:CHRISTI/ Success @ Suing CRA I know GEORGE, but it's not like I'm in Colorado. I'm right down the road. Like I said, I really don't care because I think that I have them. Charlie
Re: Re:CHRISTI/ Success @ Suing CRA To Christi or Marie Thank you for the reply but could you possibly answer my request? Where does one file? What does one say in order to maxmize the claim? Is there any way you have a template to go off of? Again thank you for your time. Mike P.S. my email is randallflagg70@hotmail.com
Re: Re:CHRISTI/ Success @ Suing CRA invisible, There's a search button in the upper left corner of the page. All your questions have answers, and good ones, that have been previously posted. You're asking BIG questions. Did you read the FAQ tagged at the top of the page? Sassy
Re: Re:CHRISTI/ Success @ Suing CRA I sued Experian in US District Court and it settled this past week. Also have that non-disclosure agreement on the terms, though. L
Re: Re:CHRISTI/ Success @ Suing CRA I sued pro se in small claims.... you can get forms from county clerk. I did the lawsuit template (lizard has one posted here and whyspers has one posted at proselitigant.net) to help me formulate my argument even though i did not have to submit it with my claim. You might also check the bayhouse credit forum for some hints.
Re: Re:whyspers/Suing CRA Whyspers Could you possibly contact me at my persoal email -randallflagg70@hotmail.com . I would like to repectfully request any info on how you waged a successful campaign against the cra. Thank you for your time.
