SO here's the deal I disputed online with EQ and TU on Aug 10. By checking disput status online it appears that one(of two) EQ disputes verified. I can't seem to check my TU dispute status online (anyone know how?). Now here's an interesting bit. At the same time I sent a dispute (the one included with report) by certified mail to EX. They have much wrong info on me (bad SSN evidently. They said it didn't match the one they had on file when I requested my report. There were also several variations of my previous addresses mostly slightly incorrect). I was unable to dispute online with EX because of incorrect SSN. Anyway When I try to check the status of my dispute online I type in the Report number and recieve a message that no investigation is in process for that report. This is interesting since I have the greencard that says they received the dispute on Aug 16. What do I do if EX never ran an investigation? Also do I need to expect to hear from the other two (EQ and TU) by sept 10. Also what if I receive nothing by sept 10 from the CRAs? THANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR HELP
First, call them and ask if any items are in dispute on your report. Sometimes they don't show up on CW. Second, if they didn't do their job, send a letter after 35 days and demand immediate removal and threaten a lawsuit. Third, if they don't cooperate, sue them.
Well I actually got something via snail mail from EX today. It was just a page advising me of my rights as a Californian. It did, however, have a new report number that works for checking the status of my investigation. 10 long days to go with EX......... THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP
