Never dealt with Mr. Cooke but Mr. Miller just sent me a letter confirming that they would delete 2 late pays from 3 years ago. Was a very nice letter and it's already been deleted from EQ..waiting on other 2.
Why? Who appointed you as editor of the post? Quote: lb59 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by thickman66 Stop discussing EUGENE!! Mr. Cooke combined wifes 2 accounts, closed one (NO QUESTIONS ASKED)...then reduced the interest rate to 7.90%...(after BT expires)...
Don't feel alone Sirrowan. Mr. Cooke has no understanding of the whole reaging concept. The only way to get Cap1 to fix a reaging issue is to sue them. I think Mr. Cooke must be the one that interprets FCRA, FDCPA for the company, and he is simply misinformed and hasn't taken the time to read the entire law. After a few successful lawsuits, he will get the picture on this re-agging of old debt issue in his head. Perhaps, if all of us with re-aging issue from Cap1 can put together a class action, then they will take notice.
Vanilli How did you get your late payments removed?? Could you either post a copy of the letter you used or email it to me?? I sent them a letter last month and have not received any response and they have not updated my account for 2 months now! The late pays are still on there. As for Mr. Cooke, he's okay. He would not remove 1 late pay from 2 1/2 years ago. Well, now I have options. For the most part, he is fair and respectful to current cap. 1 cardholders.
My 2 cents is......that Mr Cooke is a very positive employee for Cap 1. He is not the CEO, just an employee. He has guidelines that he has to adhere to. Has anyone threatened or sued Cap 1 for not answering verification letters? Charlie
Beta...all I did was call customer service and talked to a rep. The rep said that they would do it but that it would take up to three months but that they could not send me a letter letting me know that they asked them to be removed. I then wrote a PFB letter complaining about why they couldn't followup with me to let me know they removed the lates. This was a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday I received a letter from Mr. Miller apologizing and letting me know that the lates were removed as a courtesy. The lates were from three years ago b/c of a problem with their inputting of a temporary change of address when I was in grad school.
