Talked with Mr Cooke after PFB to Cap 1 about puny limit increase. He upgraded me to a Gold Card and doubled my CL. In addition he dropped the APR in half. This was after getting nowhere with the Cap 1 Customer Service line.
Christi, I did and was denied. That app is being "reconsidered." He sent it back to underwriting with a recommendation.
He turned me down flat. Said the $300 limit stays although we already canceled the card. I will take my 1500 mbna and 2000 umbrella bank and be happy with it.
Sorry I didn't realise you were talking about a different card. How long did you have the card that Mr. Cooke upgraded. I have to wait until Nov 30th to request any increase per Mr. Cooke. Also, If Mr. Cooke sent the other application back, you should definitely get the Platinum.
I've had a silver account since 1997. Perfect payment history, but only once recieved an unsolicited $200 increase. When I asked Cap 1 for an increase they gave me another whole $100 increase. That's what led to my PFB about the Silver account. I thought that they could do a bit better and upgrade me. I tried through the customer service line, but they just told me forget it.
