Called Experian today because of "duplicate" inquiries on my report. In a different post I had applied for 5 Amex cards at the same time. AMEX pulled 5 hards on Experian. The Special Services rep told me they can delete inquiries that are duplicate as long as they are within 30 days of each other. So now I have only one AMEX hard left .
Wow thanks this is true. I called and they deleted the multiples within a month but they will delete the oldest first bleh. I tried it with transunion and of course got the 'statement of fact' Experian also told me they do not have to give a 5 day reinsertion notice because they did not reinsert it- the CA did. Hahaha yah right. They also stated they do not have to do inquiries even though the FCRA says they do because it is fact it was pulled so I guess that means all the collections and stuff are fiction.
Don't take NO from TU. Just call again and talk to someone else. TU WILL dispute inquiries... I've found the playing dumb approach is best. You can also just write the creditors and make them show proof they had a permissible purpose for pulling the report. Most will just delete the inquiries for you.
I am SO irate over this "inquiries are factual blah blah blah" CRAP!!!! The FCRA clearly says that the CRAs must investigate any item of information that is disputed by a consumer, and it further states that they are not allowed to report inquiries from a transaction that was not initiated by a consumer. That seems pretty straightforward to me, so where the hell do they get off refusing to investigate? It is just plain infuriating! I am looking for a lawyer to file suit against the CRAs and also against the companies who ran my credit without a permissible purpose. I have had enough of this BS. P.S. "so I guess that means all the collections and stuff are fiction." LOL -- thanks, I needed a good laugh ;D
