To all the credit vets, Is November the best time to flood the CA with disputes since most companies are understaffed around the holiday season ? If they don't respond by the 30 day mark they have to remove the negative entries correct ? I'm just wondering if I should wait to drop the Atom bomb on these collectors on Thanksgiving Eve. Thanks
Yes, that is why disputing around the holidays is the best time of year. Don't forget to remove all previous addresses from your reports etc. before disputing.
I tried removing old addresses and they told me I couldn't because that's what the OC reported. Is there another way to remove?
I told the CRA that I had to deal with CAs that held accounts to a person with a similar name different spelling and that this is when these bad addresses appeared... by leaving them there, they create confusion when another CA tries to find the "other" woman who shares a similar name - verifies the addy and then bills me. They agreed to delete. Did this over the phone.
If they have an old address on file, it makes it harder for them to verify that the account is yours. scott
I just sent in a letter to Experian. They had listed on my CR a laundry list of address that went back as far as 6 years ago. There had to be 25 different addresses listed in various ways. I told them that they needed to investigate each and every address with the original sources, and if it could not be confirmed with each source that they are to be removed from my CR. I tried to stress that they had to contact EACH address for verification. I checked my CR report yesterday and the address are gone. kathy
Great Job Kathy, By substantially increasing their work load they chose to just delete and move on to more important issues. A smart way to do it.
If you remove the old addresses, don't the good tl go with the old addresses? or is that a stupid question.....
