Ok I was looking through Pacer which is this inline thingie to see how many times experian has been sued and in the last 2-3 years they have had to go to district court 1118 times. I wonder if they could just like obey the laws and maybe they would not have to go so much.

    whoaaaaaa picantel,

Tell please, I have pacer, where do you go to find that information?? The cases and opinions?

I've not been able to figure out beyond finding individual filing information.

Pass me a link, pretty please with sugar on top! or email.

I gotta go but will get it tomorrow. My parents are visiting from illinois. Experian cut off access to my credit file the day I filed against them. there is no way they knew about my filing unless they spy here or what I think is the lady cut it off so I could not see her lying again.

Does it show how many times that they have lost? I'm ignorant, what is pacer? Sassy, picantel is not a horse! Charlie

Of course not charlie, if so, I'd have posted nayyyyyyyyyyyyy, LOL.

Pacer is public access something something to court records electronically. Public Access to Court Electronic Records, yeah, that reads right.

Registration is free, must do by snail mail though, .07 cents per page downloaded. It's the Feds way of making court information public via the freedom of information act and make a buck at the same time.

BK information from all states is available online, which is why I signed up. Someone had speculated that the BK information online was likely how the CRA's verified information, I wanted to see what was reported about me -- 'cause that's how I am.

Then it led to privacy violation discussions because indeed every piece of information associated with a BK filing becomes public upon filing (social, birthdates, account names, numbers, balances, employer) -- all available online, talk about ID theft waiting to happen! I'm not sure the thief would be happy with the resulting credit of a BK-filer though
    ;-).

In addition to the BK information, you can obtain federal and district court information. I've just not figured out how to do it yet.

It's all searchable by name at minimum, so I'm guessing if I find the right place, I'm thinking the main site for a district court, you should be able to plug in any of the names of the CRA's and get a list of filings. Some of the courts put their decisions online as well.

No worries, picantel, do what you need to, enjoy your parents -- more eyes!!!!!!!!! WAVING to you experian lurkers!

    Holy Crap!!

That could run into the bux.

    :(

Access to web based PACER systems will generate a $.07 per page charge. Access to dial-up PACER systems will generate a $.60 per minute charge.

    whoaaaaaaaaaaa fave Butch growling dude:

Oh wait, white that horsey talk right out, or else we will be talking about your anatomy too ;-)

My paper says, right in front of my face "All registered agencies or individuals will be assessed the charge of $0.07 per page for web access OR $0.60 per minute of dial-up access."

It must depend on how the courts access the system, they aren't all available through pacer.

I dunno, I only know I've never been billed a per minute charge and you can check account status online as well. You don't even receive a bill but quarterly and that is if you account reaches $10.00.

This letter says http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov for current payment and billing info.

Maybe the other link I posted explaining what pacer was is outdated.

    Sassy

EDIT: Ok, I just checked, looks like .60 per minute for downloading documents from courts that are not available via web based pacer (you have to dial-in to the court itself).
