This is how it worked for me about 1.5 years ago : After 1st 9 months they can do it - the system tells the CSR the maximum allowed without having to go to the credit department. After the 1st review- they can do it every 6 months. It seems that the maximum a CSR can do without referring to the credit dept. is $1,500. They also send out bal xfr offers with "increase your credit line up to $xxxx" - if/when you get one of those, call and tell them you want to accept the offer and you'll send the check yourself (the letter comes with 3 checks). This can be done even before the 6 months are up (they are offering, you aren't asking). Once you ask for an increase or accept an offer, you can't get another increase by request for 6 months. Good luck, mj
How much of a chance would someone have of doubling the cl from $5000 to $10000, and having the card upgraded from gold to platinum after the first 9 months, with all Fico's in the mid 700's.......this is my father's account.
