    Hi,

When I started this credit fixing thing back in January, I did not know about this board and just figured paying off my cc's would raise my score.

    When I started I had:
    EQ: 3 late pays 603
    EX: 3 late pays 606
TU: 2 late pays 686 fako

    today i have:
EQ: 0 late pays (last one im disputing) 703!!!!!!
EX: 0 late pays 668 (this will go up when amex reports my $2500 payment)
TU: 1 late (somehow they validated it in 2 days) 724 fako

When I do the simulator on equifax, if i pay off the balances I owe (15k), I will have a score between 801 and 816.

    THAT IS CRAZY... :)

So anywhoo, hopefully Fleet wont validate the late since they sold the acct and my record will be clean on 2 agencies.

Any ideas what I should do on the TU late? Also, right now I am paying 9.9% on my car loan ($12500 left). Should I do anything with this? I currently have almost 0 inquiries on any report.

Thanks this board has really helped me out and I hope I have helped someone too. Don't worry I am staying forever!

    Allen

Congratulations Allen!! Success stories help give the "newbies" reassurance that they too can have good credit one day soon. Charlie

    Good show, Allen!

I would like to know how you began your credit repair journey. Did you start by disputing the lates with the CRA's?

I wrote Key Bank and Discover a nice goodwill letter. Key Bank removed and let me know, Discover did nothing.

Course Key Bank is fully paid off, Discover has been closed since 1999 and I am still paying them LOADS of interest.

    :)

anyone with any advice on my initial question in bold above?

should i risk the inquiry to see if i qualify for a refi on my car?

right now its 9.99%, if it went to 5.99 would it really make a diff? the online calculators seem to say no..

    thanks,
    allen
