Congrats!!! Not to hijack your thread, but I have the BofA Gold card, and I am feeling rather frisky since my TU report is now clean. I don't want to apply for another card...I am on a diet What I want to do is try to upgrade to the Platinum card, the new Money back card. I emailed a rep. a few weeks ago, and they said you don't have to wait to be converted to another product. My question is, do you all REALLY think they will upgrade and increase the line, or should I just be a good girl and wait for my first review?
Azur- Even tho I haven't been too big on self restraint myself lately I'd say wait til your first review. My experiance with Bofa is that - while at times they can be very generous with increases, bt offers etc - they seem to be strict on the amount of time that has to go by til they review your credit - at least 6 months - has been my experience. How long have you had the card?
Hello Kev, Congrats to you! I just got approve for BofA as well but I only got approved for the gold card even though I appy for the Platinum I was approved on 10/18/02 credit line is $3500 apr 9.9% fixed... they pull TU for me as well score is 736... enjoy your new card! Kev
It has only been two months (I know, I know), I was trying to tap that resource as a "fix" to my addiction. It is sssssoooooo hard not to apply for something!!! Sometimes I fill out the app. without pressing "submit". Can someone please check me into Promises!!!
Cool, Kev! I'd just like to get my BofA card reinstated. Had to do the payment plan which meant closing the account. We're going to pay a bunch on it with all those wonderful commissions DH is gonna get during the holiday season. Then, maybe they'll reopen my account.
I originally received the gold card about a year and a half ago. I was able to upgrade to Platinum after about five months with an increase. HOWEVER, it cost me a hard inquiry. My suggestion would be to wait until after your six month review and ask customer service what they can offer you without an inquiry. I called yesterday and requested an increase without an inquiry. She immediately gave me $2,500. I probably could have gotten more, but that was ok with me. This conversation took all of 25-30 seconds (literally). Bank of America is awesome!!
