are there any banks out there that do not use ChexSystems? I am trying to open up an account but I have some bad info on ChexSystems and this is the only thing holding me back. I've heard someone say PNCBank, but i'm not sure. Any advice would be great..Thanks!
If you have any debts on this system that are not paid, you should pay them. After you pay these debts, (if you currently have any), try getting an account then. Different banks and credit unions have different polices and procedures. It is hard to say what each would do.
Do a search for Chexsystems. There are afew, but it all depends on what part of the country your in. Also try www.chexsystemssucks.com. Charlie
Sorry, I thought is was www.chexsystemssucks.com. It's something like that. I'm sure that you'll find it when you do a search. Charlie
Go to FSNB.com. It's a bank for military or civilians. I opened an account with them about 2 months ago and have been very happy. Opening deposit is 100.00. First 50 checks free (starter checks, though). They are in OK. I mail them a check from alabama and it usually posts within 3 days. They do take direct deposit. Not only that, but after 4 months, you can apply for there unsecured rebuilder credit card. It has an annual fee of $20 and a low credit limit. I've been happy with them.
Try USAA Bank. There are some post on that bank, so do a search. Their number is (800) 292-8302. They are a good bank no matter where you live, good rates, good accounts and they use telecheck instead of ChexSystems. If you are in ChexSystems for NSF, then get a letter from the bank that reported the NSF stating that the NSF has been satisfied. After that, you should be able to go to most banks or Credit Unions, and open an account. I had to do that with Sun Trust and AllFirst Bank. This link was very helpful to me, so check this out ... http://chexsys.tripod.com/goodbanks.html Hope this helps ... UNLV34
I'm assuming you are on ChexSystems? Did you have to pay off the incident in order to get an account with them? I am in the same boat. I have one incident for NSF and am looking to secure a bank account. Thanks!
Hi Ladyfemme, I have been on ChexSystems since 1999. I had to pay the account off and get a letter from the bank stating the NSF has been satisfied, in order to get an account at the same bank or with another bank. There are alot of banks (probably 90%) that use ChexSystems, but if you have a letter from the bank stating that the issue is resolved, then most likely, they will open an account for you. It depends on the bank and the aqe of the NSF. Normally, if its over 2 years and paid, you should not have a problem. ChexSystems will keep it on their records for 5 years. I disputed my NSF with ChexSystems and it came back verified. Now, I am disputing ChexSystems with a letter from my bank stating the NSF has been resolved ... I will keep you posted on the results. UNLV34 PS. That above thread should give you alot of banks that do NOT use ChexSystems. They might use Telecheck, so do your research.
Also check chexvictims.com. They provide you with a list of banks. I also reccommend USAA banks at usaa.com
Try Woodforest National Bank, Houston Texas (www.woodforest.com) and First Convenience National Bank, Fort Worth Texas (www.1stcb.com). Woodforest Natl may pull a Chex System report but will still open an account. They are a new banking company and want to build a customer base. At this writing (6/2003) they are very aggressive about opening new accounts. At First Convenience Bank, you could be from mars and open a checking account. No reference check at Chex System or Telecheck.
