For those of you who have been following my FCNB & Midland saga (tnobles!!), I came home today to a letter in my mailbox from FCNB that says.... Dear Val: We have received your request for written communication only and per your request we are sending this letter. We have notified the credit bureaus of the following change regarding the above referenced account: We have requested that they remove this account from your credit profile. Until the agencies have updated their records, please use this letter as confirmation of our action. We have also recalled this account from Midland Credit Management Inc. and advised them to remove any & all derogatory remarks from your trade line. Midland will be sending you a written confirmation letter of their actions. We apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused you and thank you for taking the time to contact us. Love, (ok, I made the "love" part up) FCNB Thank you to all of you who helped me along the way to this Sweet Success! Hey...tnobles...are you out there???
FCNB went as far as to offer a new card!!!!! Go tnobles, go tnobles, go tnobles. That's all thanks to Val of course.
Congrats!! I tried to search to hear the beginning of the story and it won't work.... What did your letter say?
Congrats VAL!!!!!! That is awsome!!! Can you post the letter that you used? I am about to dispute FCNB as well ... UNLV34
ValGal333, Who were you corresponding with, with FCNB???? Please give me a contact name/address/dept/phone. I have the name of Spiegel's General Counsel (does Sorensen sound familiar?) but I wanted to know if there was a closer contact in FCNB bank? Thanks,
Val, I am in the same boat as Marci. Could you please, please email me the letters you used and your contacts for Speigals and FCNB? Desperately needed, trying to get a home and these are my last bad things. Thanks, Chelsea chelsys@yahoo.com
That is awesome!! Please post tactics and contacts you used! I too am in dispute regarding Spiegel acct. Thanks, Jen
Whats up with FCNB???? I just got a copy of my TU report in the mail yesterday (as a result of my latest disputes) and the FCNB paid charge-off that I've been disputing for almost 2 years and has always came back verified, was DELETED!! Now it is just showing up on Experian and they won't let me dispute via CE anymore so I'm going after it there during CHOD. Hopefully I'll finally get that thing off of there (it's scheduled to come off 12/2003). Kirk
Gee looks like everyone has a paid co with fcnb. It's only on my dh TU and of course they won't investigate anymore. I was wondering if you guys had more luck with initiating investigations on TU's website as opposed to in the mail. Also...re: CHOD...if I try that I am guessing from what I've read, it should arrive there WED before Thanksgiving or Fri after?
I can answer your question, I think, FCNB has become scared, they know that alot of people are now getting pissed. An advocate from FCNB called me about hubby's account and said that they had noooooo idea what Midland was doing, they are running scared. They went as far as to put a cease and disist themselves on hubby's accounts, and forced Midland to send a letter informing us that the account was recalled and that it would be removed from the bureaus. Even if you have not dealt with Midland, I believe that this new ordeal has put a damper on there credit reporting department. At least until they can fix some of the damage that Midland has done. FCNB went as far as to offer a full credit on one of hubby's cards and offered to reopen the account.
