    Is it legal to record a phone conversation without the other party knowing AS LONG AS you never play it for anyone esle. Basically I'll be using it for dictation purposes and quoting the other party on what they say verbatim.


    I'm not sure is this borderline or not.

    how are you going to explain in court that you have audiographic memory? esp. if they ask you to repeat something verbatim?

    Sorry, i assumed you were talking about a two-party or all-party consent state.
