Hey all, Does anyone know if a C & D letter sent by fax and confirmation is received as good as it being sent by certified mail? I tried sending a certified letter, return receipt requested, to a CA twice but never got the green cards back (which I thought was strange) so I faxed it. Just wondering if this will hold up in court as proof. This particular CA stopped sending me letters after I faxed the C & D letter but now are beginning to send again. Seems as if I read that it was proof enough but wanted to double check. Thanks.
Once you have the confirmation with the date and their fax number on it that should be good enough proof. Some faxes even copy a portion of the first page on the confirmation sheet as proof of what you sent which in my opinion would be far better proof of than a green card (CRRR) because it actually supports your claim of what you sent them and when. But even without the printed portion of the first page once you have a confirmation sheet with the date and their fax number on it that should be as good a proof as a certified mail receipt. Hope this helps. By the way, I myself have sent some validation letters via fax. Far cheaper and accomplishes the same goal. It's mostly personal preference though.
