Here is the deal...short and sweet. I have money in the bank that can NOT be touched for another 2 1/2 weeks. It is "seasoning" for my mortgage. The problem, my rent is due tomorrow. I have about 1/2 leaving me 600.00 short. Is there anyway to do a cash advance with out doing an actual cash advance? In other words BT somehow into my bank?

You could use c2it.com from citi to transfer from your card to a checking acct or other acct. You must sign up for the service and it will take a few days to get everything set up and to transfer from c2it to your checking acct.

i usually just call the number on the back of the card

i ask for the 3.9% bt offer and that they send me a check in the amount of x to me

i have always gotten it within 1 week.

    I have
    3 mbna cards
    a bank one card
    another first usa bank card
    A peoples bank card
------- -----------All six of these will let me write out a check and deposit it to my personal checking account.
I also have 2 citi cards that will let me do the same thing I think.

You can sign up for it today, they will usually post to your account by Monday or Tuesday. Then you call the 800 number to set everything up. If I'm not wrong, you can transfer right away up to $600.00. Check it out at www.c2it.com

Doesn't citibank allow you to set up a pin number through the phone?? It's costly since most charge 3%, but it is quick cash...

Citibank lets you order either "Convenience Checks" or "Direct Checks".

They're exactly the same, except CCs are coded as a cash advance, whereas DCs are coded as a balance transfer.

Be sure to use only DCs!!!

Ohno, I really don't know where you are in your mortgage process, etc. but do you need to worry that the new charge will show up on your CR's? I know most mortgage companies do a last minute pull of CR's just before closing to make sure ratios are still ok.

Ohnostuck said they are 2 1/2 weeks from closing. I don't think he/she will have a problem with the bt because it generally takes creditors at least a month to report the change in balance...

Doing this has nothing to do with the home loan.
This is just another one of the idiosyncrasies of credit scoring which as usual has nothing to do with the facts.

Wasn't referring to her score, was referring to her debt to income ratios. If she is 2 1/2 wks from closing, I would agree with cfand3. She said she was seasoning the money, which I took to mean she is trying to age the amt of time she has had the money in savings, and I wasn't sure it necessarily coincided with the closing date.
