I know I have seen a thread on here regarding TU deleting positive tradelines, however, I have been searching for it for about an hour and can't seem to locate it. Would someone happen to have a link to them or if the authors have it, I would appreciate it.

If not, does anyone happen to know the best way to get it reinserted? Via mail or telephone? Thanks.

It happened to me! It took a few emails and phone calls but I got it re-instated. You need to send an email to Don Richman (drichman@transunion.com). He's very responsive as long as you are nice and don't try to pull any BS on him.

Also, after he sends a reply confirmation, make sure that you also call TU directly to get a verbal confirm over the phone. The first time I called, the tradeline was not restored as promised.

    Good Luck!

He told me the only way was to send them a letter FROM the company on their letterhead stating that the account should be reinserted, I begged him and begged him, did not do any good, seeing that it was hubby's oldest revolving acct his score dropped about 80 pts. Really sucks

I had disputed the tradeline as paid in full/never late and sent them a letter from the OC stating that fact and instead of updating, they deleted. So now I need to get a letter from the OC? Does the letter need to be sent directly from the OC to the CRA or can the OC send it to me so that I can have a copy and then I can forward it to the CRA? Thanks tnobles!

He said that the letter just needed to state that it needed to be re-inserted and that there were no lates etc. I believe if you already have that letter and you raise enough hell about it they will re-insert. If I had a letter and they did that to me, I'd be mad enough to sue if I had to. But the late that dh had was legit, and frankly I could probably contact the company and plead for them to remove the late, but I have been too busy trying to get some more harmful stuff removed. TU is just jerks. But really, if you have a letter stating such, I would just bitch about it until they do it or send an intent to sue if they did not give in. But that is just me, I have a very short fuse and if I was in the right and they were in the wrong, I would not give them a second chance

I know what you mean tnobles. I too have a short fuse when I feel that "big business" is always trying to screw the "little people". I am so glad that this website is here to educate people as to their rights. I just found out today that this was deleted and am beside myself. this. I will try to use the letter I have. I simply can't believe that they would delete with proof right in their hands. I am thinking that it would be better for me to email since I can get quite inflammed when faced with such obvious injustices.

    Sarge,

I recently disputed the balance showing on my Honda Finance loan. They were reporting $3000 more than what I actually owed. I guess Honda didn't respond within the 30 days and they deleted it. They did this with my Credit Union auto loan last year under similar circumstances.

Sunday I wrote to TU and included a copy of my most recent AHF statement and I asked that they re-insert the tradeline. I faxed it to them so hopefully it will speed up their response. I'll let you know how I make out.

In the future I'll refrain from disputing balances on my positive tradelines with any CRA unless I enclose a statement. Too bad they dont' rush to delete the bad ones.

TU will delete if you dispute any POSITIVE tradeline. Their interpretation of the FCRA is 100% correct meaning if the amounts were incorrect on the CR and it is disputed and it's wrong the tradeline is deleted. NEVER dispute a positive TU tradeline. I had 6 positives deleted about a week after they changed their policy. I've had very little success having them re-inserted. Don Richman is fickle if you ask me. Charlie

    Charlie,

Its just not TU. My favorite CRA Experian deleted my First Premier VISA account. I disputed the balance as incorrect and that it should be shown as open/paid. They just deleted it.

The only CRA that I haven't heard this happen with yet is EQ.

I stand corrected. I thought it was TU only. What has EX said about it? Charlie

    Charlie,

I was pretty shocked when I got the response from them showing the account deleted. I thought TU was the only one doing this.

I'm sending them a letter with my last statement showing a $25 credit balance. Lets see if they re-insert but somehow I think they're going to be difficult.

Eq did it to me. As soon as I get my letter from the OC I'll be faxing to EQ and demanding re-insertion.

They do this crap on purpose guy's. It's to pay you back for disputing.

It's also actionable, in my opinion. Deleting a good TL trashes your score.

EXP did it to me too, on my car loan. My score actually went up 4 points. I havent' even tried to get it reinserted, I was too busy trying to deal w/ derogs at the time, and I've lost steam at this point. No fight left for the CRA's.
