is the kmart card hard to qualify for? i already have one capital one account, it was my first account right after i turned 18, and it has perfect payment history. Does this help because i have a lot of inquiries. I applied over the phone and they said i'd be notified in 12-14 days but it was automated so i dont know if that means anything. Has anyone applied for cap1 over the phone? thanks greg
After I had my visa with them for a year I applied for a mastercard by phone. However it wasn't automated, I spoke with a live person. She said I would be hearing something within 30 days by mail. Well it took about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks before I found out I was approved. I know have a $1,000 line on the visa and they only approved me for $300 on the mastercard. no big deal, they don't report limits anyways. You can call them after a few days and check the status of the application.
I don't know if it is with a cold application. I know it was pretty easy with the preapproved applications they sent out. My hubby got a 6K platinum KMart mastercard with a Ch.7 in 98, although his scores are high 600's and low 700's. I was mid 600's when I got my little ole gold KMart card. L
