This is probably stupid, but lets say I sent out validation, and upon receipt disputed with the CRA. How do I know if the in dispute notation that shows up a few days later is from the CRA or the CA?

I know on a couple of my OC disputes I received alerts, and the only changed item was the dispute notation that was already there, so I was assuming the new notation came from the OC.

It's not stupid. I asked this a few months ago too. The only CRA that has noted the account as in dispute per the OC or CA is EXP. IT says something like "consumer disputes, has been verified as per the FCRA" or something to that effect. When it's noted as in dispute by you, it just says item under investigation.

I disagree about EX being the only one. EQ is a lot better, in my opinion, about notating an item in dispute. TU's software doesn't have the capability to mark an item in dispute. Charlie

Sorry, that was supposed to say noted MY account. Both Exp and Eq have noted my accounts in dispute, but only EXP has noted the account from the OC's end. The same accounts aren't noted on EQ, for some reason. And you're right, TU's reports are a joke. Nothing is ever noted on their.
