We are looking into filing a class action alleging that the CRAs refuse to investigate disputed inquiries.

If you still got your letter (requesting investigation of Inquiries) and their response (refusing it or telling you to contact the creditor), please post a message letting us know. Thanks!

I have letters where they refused to investigate inquiries as a matter of policy and I have credit reports showing where they investigated inquiries and subsequently deleted them.

Which CRA(s) wrote to tell you they won't investigate? Please keep it, it's evidence :)

I've got 2 such letters from EFX and probably a dozen from TU.

I wasn't disputing PP, just asked TU why a hard on an existing creditor couldn't be coded AR. Got the contact the creditor letter.

    Same thing?

I have a letter from Efx. And some of mine really were not legit! Since my report was merged, it was creditors actually pulling on my brother in law, but pulling MY reports.

The ones that I have handy are from Experian. I dug them out when I faxed them to picantel (I think it was picantel I sent them to...lol). I also recall receiving a letter from TransUnion saying they don't investigate inquiries. Not positive though.

Please save it - so far you're the only one who has that in writing from EXP.

I have had inquiries deleted from all 3 CRA's
between Oct an Dec of this year.

They were all mail in disputes.

This should be very interesting but PLEASE start another thread. So that this one isn't "hijacked" and yours gets the attention it deserves. Thanks!

I have one from EQ. I BEGGED them to do something after a CA could not validate and was deleted off of my CR. There are 2 hards from these people in the past 4 months- EQ keeps insisting I have to contact the OC.

TRANS UNION says somthing like----->"THE INQUIRES HAPPENED~~WE CAN'T REMOVE THEM"

They DON'T care if it was 100% wrong...they DON'T care if the credit card companies SAID "REMOVE IT"

I have letters from all 3 and even have emails from Equifax still saved on my hard drive stating such. Anyway I can help...let me know. Let me just throw this tidbit of irony in here, I just checked CE and I have 8 inquiries deleted since yesterday...weird I didn't even dispute them.

Id imagine ive a Transunion and Equisux letter telling me that inquirys are a factual part of your record , for me to contact the person who done the inquiry etc..

    RESULTS OF YOUR INVESTIGATION:

"Inquiries are a factual record of file access. Should youhave resonto believe this inquiry was unauthorized, Please contact the creditor directly and follow their internal fraud procedures."

Is that what ya looking for?
