EQU Score = NO CHANGE with Disputes

I disputed several old collection accounts on my EQU file. I did it via their online service. I pulled a FICO right afterwards (via their Credit Manager service) and there was NO CHANGE in my score.

I read somewhere on here that it would artificially inflate the scores until the investigation was completed.

    What's up with this?

    Thanks!

It works for me...Just worked tonight as a matter of fact. Shot my score up over 100 points when I disputed one Charge off from Capital One. I got approved for a GM card tonight with a 2k limit.

How long did you wait between disputing and pulling the new score? Maybe the system needs some time to update!?
    Thanks.

My report says:"Note: CONSUMER DISPUTES-REINVESTIGATION IN PROCESS" after each disputed item.

Is a "REINVESTIGATION" different than an "INVESTIGATION"?? (ie. does this mean I disputed it previously?)

This no change in score REALLY sucks!

    Mr. Magoo,

Try pulling the score today. It still works. My cousin put items in dispute two days ago. Starting score was 503, 1 day later it was 600.

Well, anyone know how long it REALLY takes to update the score? Is it a day? After midnight? Whenever they feel like it?
    Thanks.

I tried this too. We have CSC for Equifax. I disputed all remaing negs on 01/10. Called CSC and they said that disputes do not affect score. Told her I wanted to pull my FICO because I had not done so in a month. She said that "invest. in progress" message will show up, but score will not be affected. Hmmm. I wonder why it works for some but not for others. For those it's working for, do you use Equifax or do you have to use their affiliate, CSC? I am curious to see if she was telling truth about scores, but don't want to fush the money for new FICO and report.

I had a 674 with 1 last negative tradeline in dispute. Found out two days ago it was deleted. Pulled my Fico in hopes of a 700...674 again. Apparently the tradeline was not calculated in FICO during the investigation. Sucks.

Were these collections one of the reasons given for why your score was at that level? You said they were "old collections". If they were very old they may not have been affecting your score - the second variable is whether or not you have other not-disputed negative tradelines.

In my experience with Creditwatch, when disputing a tradeline any bump in score is not apparent until 24 hours later.

Also, if there's any chance that another reason given by FICO that your balances are too high - its been my experience that this factor is what really holds down the score. I believe this factor counts for 30% of your score.
