ok supposedly my year of experian credit expert is up... should i renew?

is there a way to make a new acct every month and never pay?

should i even bother with this service - perhaps its better just to buy a report every 3-4 mos.

    thanks

    scenario one (manual ordering):

    Credit report = $8.00

    $8.00 * 4(reports) = $32.00

    Scenario two (credit Expert)

    $79.95 @4(reports)

No comparison... just order your report every 3 months. It's a rip off. Luckily my subscription goes until September and my credit should be clean by then.

If you are still messing with your reports then I say stay with them. They are a good service to track what accounts are being put on and taken off. I see the updates on my reports via this service way faster then waiting for the letter in the mail. With that said if you are done with your clean up and only need to check your reports every couple of months then it would be cheaper to not stay with them and get your reports as you need them.

    allen074,

I am interested to know how you are able to get one free TU per week. Is this something I am able to look into for myself?

I just signed up for CreditExpert and am under my free trial period, but I figure I'll renew because I have a lot of work yet to do...

    Best of luck,

when you go to tu web site, choose the fako option which shows 9.00 i think... then when you fill in the form, there is a pulldown at the bottom for "does any of these apply" - pick you were denied credit and then enter the info and BAM free report

i always use "big bird" as the creditor :)

If you want to keep a constant check on your CR's, then I would say renew CE. Do a search and there is a $49.95 special. That might make it worth it for you. Since Creditwatch changed their format, I will keep CE for sure. I have til June on CW, and I hope that CW will change back before then. Charlie

Oh, that's perfect: Big Bird. You didn't really want credit with BB anyway. (But I did hear that they contract with a bunch of puppets for collection agents. They have trouble reading the C&D letters, since they've only gotten to letter 'G' in the alphabet so far... Easy prey.)

    Thanks for the tip!

I pull my "free" TU every six days (used to be everyday until TU started denying me saying "invalid request"). I just pulled a free one today

Yea, I had a good laugh the other day when DH received an EX report. They had a marketing card inserted:

"Gain unlimited access to your credit report FROM THE ONLY SERVICE THAT PROVIDES YOU DAILY UPDATES"

Credit Watch better look out. Credit Expert is using it against them.

I decided it wasn't worth it and cancelled mine today. I may have to wait and get it through snail mail, but in my state the first report is free, each additional is $5.00--and with disputes, I shouldn't have to pay for any!

It's such a fake score (well, they all are, except for EQ)--I will have to get a tri-merge to find out what my score really is. Plus, it is my worst report and I refuse to give them my money for another year!

I have them and have been fairly pleased, but my score just doesnt change enough to make it worth paying for another year. It usually stays the same for months at a time or goes down a point if I have large balances.

    How do you cancel it?
