Specifically where does it state that it is a violation to verify to CRA's before validating the debt??? HELP!!
FDCPA 15 U.S.C. §§ 1692g(b). L Edit: Okay...maybe this should be clarified...continued reporting to the CRA's is considered (or can be considered) continued collection activity. If they verify but do not provide validation...they are violating 15 U.S.C. §§ 1692g(b).
Thanks Whyspers...I did not ask the question very clearly...thank you for the clarification. I sent validation letter and they verified after receiving it...wanted to make sure I had the rigt info. Thanks again
How about the specifics on Re-aging...I found info in FCRA 606, but does that include what a collection agency has to follow?
Collection Agencies have to follow FCRA because: § 603. Definitions; rules of construction [15 U.S.C. § (b) The term "person" means any individual, partnership, corporation, trust, estate, cooperative, association, government or governmental subdivision or agency, or other entity.
