Well, I'm shocked I got an Amex Gold and a Household Card w/ a $5000.00 limit. For me, this is FANTASTIC! The cards I had in my purse are Premier and Providian (Both suck especially Premier) I want to get rid of Premier b/c they charge me $6.00 whether I use the card or not. But they also are one of the cards that I have had the longest. How do I get rid of Premier?
If it is your oldest card I would keep it. I have the same deal with Orchard. I have all these great cards now, AMEX Blue, MBNA Gold, Chase Plat. I would love to close the orchard card, but it is my oldest card by 2 years. If I closed it my history would go from 5 years 2 months to 3 years 1 month, and my scores would tank. It is something to consider.
