That works sometimes and sometimes it don't. Just depends on how you do it and their reaction to it. You might try for void judgment on that. Doing it isn't nearly as easy as "Mr. Void Judgment" and many more would like people to believe. In order to have any chance of making motion to vacate void judgment succeed you have to build in some appealable issues and demand a decision on those questions of law as well as the validity of the judgment itself. I've never seen any of the so called void judgment experts do that. They simply make some statements and rely on Rule 12 or Rule 59 or Rule 60 or all three and then add in a few pages of legal mumbo jumbo and hope for the best, usually getting the alternative. Seems like they never stop to think that the Plaintiff's attorney will come back with plenty of reason why the judgment should not be vacated and wins almost without exception. A few do get vacated from time to time. What has 7 years to do with it? The SOL for reporting the judgment? That's not what is important. What is important is what is the SOL for collection of the judgment in your state? If no collection activity has occurred within the allotted time in your state and it is not renewed then you are home free. Some states have SOL on judgments as low as 5 years and some as long as 20 years. Might even find some longer than that. I don't know. Some states only allow one or two renewals. Pay them? That almost has to be a personal decision. Also tried debt validation with collection agency listed no response.
