Is life that simple?

    Total newbie question, I know, but if a CA breaks laws and doesn't validate, can you just call the CRAs and have them delete the negatives? Does this mean it's a done deal and the CA can't come right back and put the negative back on? Do you not owe the money anymore (provided you really did owe)?

    There is no law that says a CA must validate. They just can't continue collection activity until validation is provided. Reporting to the CRAs is construed as continued collection activity. Yes, derogitories may be reinserted, but CRA is supposed to notify the consumer within 5 days.
