Hi Wht the heck is a Credico.com decode generator? please? I have listing between hubby and I that include American Agencies (re-appered on CRA as NO STATUS ) Coll Recov - (wrong info. OC said they would have it deleated but Coll.Rec. won't budge as of yet complained to BBB yesterday so we will see) Prog Mgt Sys (no communication/validation etc filed with BBB yesterday too) CMRE (stopped them for now with Validation process haven't heard from them in months has not shown up on reports as of yet.) You can read about them at http://www.credco.com Their decode generator will take the abbreviated Collection Agency name an give you a complete address (sometimes PO box AND physical) and phone number. I hit 9 out of 10 CAs using this site and got green cards from them all. Only 1 CRRR letter came back as "unable to forward". I'm working on that

what would you need this for [i am a newbie] If you send dipute letter to the CRA and they cant find the reporting agency....isnt that what you want? confused
Yeah, but when you need another angle to contact them and they have not been removed from your report, it can be quite helpful. Additionally, I was assisting someone using a bankruptcy kit and they didn't have all of the addressess of their creditors.
It's not that the CRA can't find the CA, it's that we need the info for validation. You can ask the CRAs for the info but many times it is outdated and they don't provide phone numbers. CAs like to use passive collection practices which means that they list it on your report and bet that you will want to deal with the account before the 7 year period is up. They never send you a letter or contact you. They wait for you to contact them. Pretty sneaky huh?
bastards! ok so once you send in the validation letters...you get the green cards, and they dont respond, what do you do? Man, I am afraid to send out the dispute letters and the validaions in fear i will screw something up or say/write the wrong thing. Is it ok to dispute online to the CRA's?
