Hey, all. I got an interesting call from "Fields Guest Credit Relations" (i.e., Marshall Fields) today regarding a goodwill letter to RNB to remove some lates, and this was the message, more or less: "We don't keep records past 2 years, so you'll need to contact the credit bureaus and have them correct their records. They'll call us to verify, and if we can't, they'll delete the information." That's funny, because these lates are more than 2 years old, and they've been verified each time I've disputed them. What a crock! Wish they'd left a contact number so I could call them back and ask them to send me a letter stating this information, because it's the only way I'll get it off my reports, it seems...
Nope. Send the CRA's a procedural letter. Here is a good one from this site...just modify it to fit your needs - http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=85468#post85468 And here is an EXCELLENT one by Grendel (credit GURU!) - http://creditreportrights.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=547 This will come off of your report VERY shortly after they recieve the procedural. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks, I think I'll try the first one if they don't come off in this latest round of disputes. It's only a few 30 day lates, and it's an open account...don't need to get all litigious with them...yet, heh heh.
