    The CA is also not allowed to proceed with collection after recieving the dispute untill they can valadate the claim.

    **This includes reselling the account

    lb, I would argue that they need to sell the ENTIRE file, including the notice of dispute such that the onus to validate is now on the purchaser. Of course, the dispute letter would lower the "market value" of the tradeline. (edit: not the "tradeline," I mean the "paper")

    reselling - if i recall correctly - is not considered collection activity if they notify the new company of your dispute.
