WooHoo! Drinks all around! Lowe's gave me an istant credit of $300. It even gave me a credit card & reference number so that I can start using it online at this very moment. Wow! Not that I would of course. And I could use credit before that card gets here by merely flashing an ID at the register, & they'll issue me a temporary card. Now that's a place that wants your business. Places that also accept lowe's card are: http://www.lowes.com http://www.kobalttools.com http://www.harborbreeze.com http://www.reliabiltdoors.com Good Bye and Good Riddance to Home Depot! I spent so much $money at the place yet they denied me credit which I don't even plan on using, just wanted a retail card to go with my credit portfolio. #@!$@%$@#$#@% Okay, I admit, I fell off the wagon this wknd. I applied for platinum citibank, cap1, travelocity MC, & target before I went to Lowe's. Target gave me a "techical difficulty can't process application" blah blah blah. Lessee, if Target approves, that'll be 2 retail cards, a mortgage, a car loan, and could I possibly be looking at replacing CorTrust with Chase? Aria with CitiBank, and Orchard with Amex within a year? hmm Wouldn't that be a near perfect credit portfolio. Nonetheless, Drinks are on me!
George, I don't drink either, just a social drinker. Now why can't any of my friends be non-drinkers? They drink like a fish! TopTen, it's been over a year ago since I was turned down by Home Depot, I only applied at Lowe's. So if it's both issued by Monogram Bank, I guess I've cleaned up my act enough for them to change their mind. No wasted inquiry here. And yes I do know about the connection between Travelocity & CitiBank. But I'm playing the credit game that everyone here is playing, getting a different CitiBank card, then calling to cancel one because you prefer the other one yet having the credit of the closed limit tacked on to the one I plan on keeping. As far as Target goes, well I've seen it noted on this board of how easy it is to get. I haven't stepped inside a target here in Kansas yet, I mainly go to Wal-Mart. But if that's what FICO takes into consideration for a high score, having a retail card along w/ open revolving, a mortgage, etc.. & that's exactly what I'm doing. I know that initially, these inquiries will hurt, but in the long run, based on everyone's testimony of what cards to have, I believe I'll achieve a higher FICO score as a result. Thanks for your concern about wasted inquiries. And oh, I don't like doing homework, so can I copy off of you TopTen?
Himmel, How will all these entries effect you score? I was approved for a Dillards charge card, but turned down by Sears and Famous Barr. I got a loan to pay off Providian ($700) and a $1000 loan from my credit union. I would like to aplly for a Target, what would my chances be of getting one or would I just waste an inquiry?
