I have a default judgment against me. I received a letter saying they'd settle with me for 50%. I'd like to settle with a lower amount, plus require they file a motion to vacate the judgment. I'd like to please ask for help writing this letter to the law firm.

Sorry I can't edit the title

Was there a problem with service that led to the default?

If there was, *I* would go to the court, ask that the judgement be vacated for ineffective service.

The problem is, as long as they have a judgement, they really don't have any motivation to settle, since they now have a judgement they now have a debt that is enforceable to various means, depending on your state law, by various means, including but not limited to garnishment. So, the fact that they're even offering any type of settlement is incredible.
