Denied by my bank for unsecured credit card

i was denied by my bank for an unsecured credit card for $412 in delinquent medical bills. Is it legal for the bank to deny me based soley on that?

Yes it's their money.they don't need a excuse.My advice if you've been with the bank for a long time go to the manager.If you don't get the answer you want.It's time to move on.Or pay the bills is another option and ask them to remove it from the credit report.
